Palak inaugurated the Bangladesh IT Connect Portal - Japan Virtual Desk

The government has launched a virtual desk to attract Japanese investment in the country's IT sector and increase business ties between Japanese IT companies and domestic IT companies. The platform will act as a catalyst for business expansion and communication and relationship building with businessmen of both countries. This will create unprecedented opportunities for increasing Japanese investment in the country as well as expanding technology and BPO businesses, which will pave the way for the development of the country's digital economy. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak joined the digital platform today and inaugurated the virtual desk titled ' Bangladesh IT Connect Portal - Japan ' as the chief guest.   Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh ITO Naoki, Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Shahabuddin Ahmed, ICT Division Senior Secretary NM Zeaul Alam, Startup Bangladesh Managing Director Sami Ahmed, Japan External Trade Organization (GETRO) Resident Representative UG Ando, ​​EDGE Project Director Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Hasan and BASIS President Russell T Ahmed. While speaking as the chief guest, Zunaid Ahmed Palak sought the cooperation of the Japanese government to become a smart nation in 2041. He said that Japan is cooperating in various sectors as an important development partner of Bangladesh. He hopes that they will extend their hand of cooperation in the same way in building Smart Bangladesh in the future. ICT State Minister emphasized on making people skilled in technical and technology based education and training. He proposed joint skill development programs between Japan and Bangladesh and urged the Japan External Trade Organization (GETRO) to play a proactive role in this regard. Ito Naoki said that the ICT sector of Bangladesh is going to emerge as a potential area of ​​investment. Expressing optimism about Japan's cooperation in this sector, he said that JICA has cooperated in the preparation of the master plan for the construction of Smart Bangladesh. In the future this cooperation will increase successively. It may be noted, Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) project under the ICT Department and the Bangladesh Embassy in Japan established the 'Bangladesh IT Connect Portal-Japan' desk, which is basically a Bangladesh-Japan Business to Business (B2B) IT connectivity hub. Which will play a role in the business connection of Japanese IT companies with the country's IT companies, arranging interviews, bringing investment from the Japanese market.
